ok so then next thing to check is if it even sends CMSG_CHAT_ADDON_MESSAGE_TARGETED (enable packet logging in worldserver.conf then parse it with wpp), best to not have any other addons enabled while you do this

God, what I would give for an item generator that can produce perfectly Blizzlike items flawlessly. ๐ Executive dysfunction, perfectionism, and a need to produce over 100 custom items for Heroic Dungeon loot is not a fun combo.

I found dewmguy's item level calculator (https://github.com/dewmguy/ItemLevelCalculator) but it only really helps with items that are from WotLK itself, and seems to have issues with WotLK-era Classic items (like the Heart of Noxxion, which it insist should sell for 8 gold).

Heres a tip, since most (if not all) db2 tables are hotfixable, you can have lets say a table called item_sparse_override, place your custom items in there and just generate a hotfix notify blob packet

Actually, reusing existing rows happens to be the simplest solution, but adding rows to a dbc is very easy, I would go as far as to say trivial. DBC is an extremely simple format

I could get the argument for "Ask an AI to spit you out a list of items you can refine by hand", but trying to use AI to reinvent the wheel for the 1000th time is just silly when the wheel still works perfectly fine.

DBCs are extremely simple, no signature or compression or anything, changing data is as simple as overwriting the correct bytes in it

I never mentioned dbc editing but distribution, and yes its very easy to literally just reverse the existing reader, build your string block and write write them both. You also have stormlib for packing the mpq
