We had classic branches. But the first wotlk classic branch never got any contributions from the outside.
So we repurposed it as a field test for cata classic. Cata classic was dropped as well due to the client being too buggy and unfinished.
Funjoker eventually started a new wotlk classic branch for the new Chinese client but that one ended up dead as well.
With that being said, what you saw in these images was just a compatability layer to translate the traffic between old 335 and wotlk classic

no one is pretending we are trying to make classic work older cores with out having to code a complete new core for classic , you seem to want to hate for no reason or act as if we are doing something nefarious. you dont have to use it when its release but that on you, it works with AC TC and mangos core , we just letting people know progress and what we doing to help community , maybe learn a old proverb you got nothign nice to say dont say nothing

Keep in mind that some people are occasionally sleeping for resting purposes (usually at night, im one of those weird creatures). I was already in dream-land when u wrote.
Also there are some people who are working after waking up (im also one of those weird creatures). Given tough work schedule today, update will delay even further, minimum 4h

if you went that route (patching a 3.3.5 branch server) you will need something like hermesproxy (obviously that doesnt support 3.80, im just pointing out a way to get to a solution)
