A stripped-down (not full) version of the Cata 442 client can be downloaded from the Whitemane CDN, but it doesn't have the retail directory or the build.info file, so maybe something else is missing.

I'm fairly new to private server, but do have some experience with c++ and DBs, mainly used azerothcore and have started looking at cata servers. I love trinitycore as I found a fork with most of the gilneas quest line fixed. But I'm used to playerbots in azerothcore, I've seen that mangos three has them but the gilneas quest line is buggy and incomplete. Just wanted to see.

Probably someone already forked 434 TC and added Playerbot, but unlike AC, don't except a add a module is working, you would need to modify the core itself to have bots, Mdic up here probably knows more since he does the SP repacks

All of the repacks I'm finding aren't free (Also heard some bad stories about some, viruses, etc), I'll have to look into adding it myself, I'll see how I get on. Thank you!

Sorry, I have looked at the forks but couldn't find any talking about playerbots implementation. When doing a google search for 'trinitycore 4.3.4 playerbots' the first search is for a repack. But I'll continue looking.

Hey guys Iโm trying to set up a local cat server for solo play I set up wrath and am loving it, for cata I have a running world and bnet server but when I try to log in itโs unable to connect everytime, any troubleshooting tips? My client is 4.3.4

Hey there, just now getting into looking at setting up a Cata server to mess around in. I have seen the statement that the TC uses 4.4.2.60895 client, and others claiming it uses a 4.3.4 client, and then there's claims that you could use the Whitemane Gilneas client. I was just wondering if someone could help me iron out what is actually correct, what client is compatible, and where would be the best place to start with setting up my own mostly solo server?

cata_classic has no single content scripted and is based on a newer client
preservation has some content scripted and has the old 434 launcher but you need to patch it to be able to connect

One peculiar thing about Cataclysm is that it's special, in that it can use both the old and new on-the-wire protocol; Cataclysm is when Blizzard themselves transitioned

Hi, no, you can't use an emulator on 4.4.2 with a client on 4.3.4 because the 4.3.4 client is completely different from 4.4.2. To run the 4.4.2 emulator, you need compatible DBC, map, VMAP, MMAP files and the associated client.

But to learn, you can use the TCPP emulator which is very good; it's based on a TrinityCore branch. Ovahlord Shauren and the others did a really great job.

let's clear up things here a bit.
4.4.2 is the cataclysm classic re-boot of blizzard from last year. This is what the cata_classic branch is made for.
4.3.4 is the old original version which is supported by my old fork which is often refered to as TCPP. That's the old client from 2012.
Both of these have completely different protocols, data formats and underlying systems so consequently you cannot mix these up.
With that being said, cata_classic is essentially no longer supported as I am not going to further work on that branch as the client did not live up to my expectations.
Funjoker eventually tried to bring wotlk_classic back from the dead when the chinese re-release happened but after not getting any contributions again, this one ended up stale as well.

When getting the error, StormLibRAD.lib cannot be opened. Wouldn't #define STORMLIB_NO_STATIC_LINK this force the check if it is out of the if statements on StormLib.h or is there an better away around this, from it stopping the extractor from working?

fyi casclib has the same code (same author) and i disable it on master <https://github.com/TrinityCore/TrinityCore/blob/master/dep/CascLib/CMakeLists.txt#L64> (CASCLIB_NO_AUTO_LINK_LIBRARY) because our cmakelists produce different filenames

Sorry just seen your reply and no it wasn't the only error, but both are fixed now with the update. The other one was boost system that it wanted, so I was just using boost 1.85.0 until it got fixed, thanks.

wolf vehicle id is 690 (sniff value), first seat is controllable, second seat does not have related control flags, but vehicle ui remains in second seat after switch

seat 1 -> 7631, seat 2 -> 7632, first theory for now, this vehicle maybe was altered in later expansions. Also wolf vehicle entry is: 39364. Anyways I didn't encountered with this behavior before when I was scripting 3.3.5a content

by the looks of the video it clearly is a seat switch, check the spline packets to make sure that you enter the right seat

Seeing as both projects are mostly abandoned at this point, is there any reason to pick one over the other for messing around with? You mentioned that the cata_classic client didn't live up to your expectations. Could you elaborate on what it lacked that made it not worth pursuing in favor of sticking to (and also abandoning) the TCPP branch?
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, the Cata_Classic Client should be the better client just due to the 13 years of innovation/optimization that occurred between the two in addition to having the benefit of utilizing the modern add-on database and such.
So, if both have been deemed "abandoned", is there any reason to NOT do my fiddling about with the Cata_Classic version instead of using the (to my understanding) "weaker" and/or out-dated original client with the TCPP version?

Heya, I got a Cata server up and running and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to start for allowing characters to bypass the Dk, Goblin and Worgen starting zones? Currently, even auto-max-level 85 characters can't leave those zones, even using gm commands. Was wondering if anyone had an idea on what to do? I'm using the CataLuna434 core which is the Tirinity434 with Eluna baked into it.

I've recently deployed a Cata434 Server with Eluna using the ElunaCataclysmPreservation repo on GitHub.
The server is online, players can join, Eluna is confirmed to be working. I have a few custom scripts active to make sure it works.
It's Cata, so obviously it's going to have bugs since not really anyone's priority, but I just wanted to know how to "properly" contribute to making it better.
I believe the Cata Preservation was a fork of the last Trinity 434 branch before it got dumped in favor of the Cata classic version. And then the version in using is a fork from the Cata Preservation to include Eluna functionality.
So, I guess what I'm trying to ask is, when I come across bugs or issues that I want to document and eventually work through, would the proper place to post those reports be in the Eluna Cata Preservation GitHub or the original Cata Preservation GitHub?
I highly doubt there would be any reason to post in the original Trinity 434 GitHub, so I figure the above two options would make the most sense. I just want to help report and maybe fix things as I can along the way while I work on my server.
Any advice or guidance would be appreciated!

So, I guess ultimately, it is unlikely that there will be any traction with anything posted, and mainly just fend for myself?
That's okay if that's the case, I just want to make sure I'm not going to be wasting a bunch of time and effort going out of my way to explicitly document and fixes and implementations I make, if it's not going to ever be used.
If that's the case, I would rather just do stuff as it comes up and just not bother with a more clinical documentation process, if that makes sense?
